Which platforms does Tidybook run on?

iPhone, Android and the web. Your account carries your book across all of them.

Do I need an account?

No. Import, deduplicate, clean up and edit all work with no account, fully on one device. An account is only needed for the Sync plan (multi-device sync and cloud backup). If you sign in later, the book you already built is adopted into your account.

Does Tidybook change my phone’s contacts?

No. Tidybook reads your phone’s address book to import it, then keeps its own canonical book. It does not modify your phone’s contacts.

Can I import from Google, iCloud or Outlook?

Yes — export a vCard (.vcf) or CSV from that service and import the file into Tidybook. That covers essentially every contacts source today.

Is it really private?

Yes. When Sync is on, your contacts are end-to-end encrypted before they leave your device; the server only ever stores ciphertext and can’t read a name or number. Turn on the passphrase lock and it becomes zero-knowledge — not even Tidybook can decrypt your book. See Sync & encryption.

What happens if I forget my passphrase?

If you enabled the zero-knowledge passphrase lock and lose both the passphrase and your recovery code, your synced book cannot be recovered — that’s the point of zero-knowledge. Always keep a vCard / CSV export as an independent backup before enabling the lock.

How do I back up my contacts?

Export to vCard or CSV at any time. It’s a plain, portable file that opens anywhere and belongs entirely to you, independent of any account.
