# AI sign advisor

> Optional: let your mounted phone read roadside speed-limit signs and pre-fill limit suggestions for you to confirm.

The **AI sign advisor** is an **opt-in** helper that keeps your limits fresh without any typing. It
never changes the map on its own — it only **suggests**, and you confirm.

## How it works

    Enable the advisor in **Settings → Driving**. It uses your **camera** while the phone is mounted
    and a session is running.

  <Step title="It watches for signs">
    While you drive, the app quietly captures small camera frames and, along with your location and
    heading, sends them to the AI to read any speed-limit signs.

  <Step title="You get a suggestion">
    When it reads a sign, the advisor drops a **pre-filled limit suggestion** into the same
    confirm-and-undo flow as your manual edits. Tap to accept, and it becomes a normal personal
    override.

<Warning>
  The advisor **never edits the map by itself**. A suggestion is only applied when **you confirm it**
  — the AI has no write access to your limits.

## Uploads and data use

* Frames are uploaded in **batches**. By default WhySoSlow uploads over **Wi-Fi and mobile data**;
  flip **"Upload on Wi-Fi only"** in settings if you'd rather wait for Wi-Fi, and use **"Upload
  now"** to send on demand.
* Once a batch uploads successfully, the app **deletes those frames from your device**.
* The photos are **kept on the burakov server** so suggestions can be generated and reviewed.
* Capture frequency and quality are tuned to keep the phone cool, and the advisor is **off unless you
  enable it**.
