# Cleanup, editing & your card

> Tidybook's automatic cleanup rules, the full contact editor and its field model, and how to share your own details as a scannable QR card.

Beyond merging duplicates, Tidybook keeps each contact **clean and complete**, and lets you share
your own details without handing over your whole book.

## Automatic cleanup

Tidybook tidies as you go:

* **Phone numbers** are normalized to international (E.164) format, using your region for local
  numbers, so the same number always looks — and matches — the same way.
* **Empty and degenerate entries** (no name and no reachable field) are flagged for removal.
* **Incomplete records** (for example, a name with no contact method) are surfaced for your review
  rather than deleted automatically.

Cleanup never deletes anything on its own — it flags, and you decide.

## The contact editor

Every contact is fully editable, with a high-fidelity model:

* **Name** — prefix, given, additional, family, suffix, plus a display name and nickname.
* **Organization** — company, department and title.
* **Phones, emails, addresses, websites** — as many as you like, each with its own label
  (mobile / home / work / …). Addresses are structured (street, city, region, postal code, country).
* **Birthday, notes** and other dates.

When a contact came from a source with fields Tidybook doesn't model, those are **kept alongside**
and re-emitted on export, so nothing is lost on a round-trip.

## Export & backup

Export your whole book to **vCard** or **CSV** at any time. It's a plain, portable file that opens
anywhere and belongs entirely to you — a cold backup that doesn't depend on Tidybook, the cloud, or
any account still existing.

## Your own QR card

Build a card from **your own** chosen details — name, phones, emails, organization, websites — and
Tidybook renders it as a **QR code** anyone can scan with their camera to save you as a contact. No
app required on their end, and no server involved: you're simply sharing your own data.
