# Quickstart

> Start or schedule a meeting, invite people, and join as a guest.

## Host a meeting

    Open Semble and enter your email — you get a one-time code, no password. The same account
    works across all Burakov apps.

    **Start an instant meeting** drops you straight into a room. **Schedule for later** takes a
    title, a time, a summary style, and optional invitee emails — each invitee gets an email with
    the join link and a calendar invite, plus a reminder shortly before it starts.

    Inside the room, **Invite** copies the meeting link (or opens your device's share sheet).
    Anyone with the link can join — until you lock the meeting.

Your meetings stay on the home screen — reopen one to rejoin the room, read its transcript and
summary, or download a recording.

## Free meetings

A meeting is free for **up to 4 people and 40 minutes**, and you can have one free meeting going
at a time. In the last five minutes everyone sees a countdown. Turning [Kai](/semble/talking-to-kai)
on in a meeting lifts both limits for that meeting — up to 50 people, no time limit.

## Join as a guest

Open the link you were sent, type the name others should see, and press **Join**. There's no
account and nothing to install — Semble runs in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. Your
browser will ask for camera and microphone access; you can join with either turned off.

Guests are full participants: they can ask Kai by voice or text, add documents, read the live
transcript, and chat with everyone.

## In the room

| Control             | What it does                                                                                |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Microphone / camera | Turn your mic or camera on and off.                                                         |
| Speaker             | Mute everyone else's audio for you only.                                                    |
| More (⋮)            | Raise your hand, send a reaction, blur your background, share your screen, or pick devices. |
| Kai                 | Open the meeting panel: Kai, Chat, Docs, and the live Transcript.                           |
| Leave               | Leave the meeting. The room stays open for the others.                                      |

Click any tile to pin that person large; click again to return to the grid. The host also has
**Lock** and **Record** in the header — see [Hosting](/semble/hosting).

<Tip>
  If you hear nothing after joining, look for **Tap to enable sound** — some browsers block
  audio until you interact with the page once.
