# Credits

> Meeting is free; prepaid credits pay for Kai's time and recordings.

Video meetings in Semble are **free** — up to 4 people and 40 minutes per meeting, one free
meeting at a time. Turning Kai on in a meeting lifts both limits for it (up to 50 people, no time
limit). You pay only for two optional extras, and only the **host**
pays — guests never do:

There's no subscription and no per-seat pricing — the cost of Kai's time is the same for 3
people or 30.

## Your wallet

Your credit balance and recent activity are on the home screen. New accounts start with **12 free
credits** — an hour of Kai — to try it out.

Checkout is handled by **Paddle**, our merchant of record; Semble never sees your card details.
Credits appear in your wallet as soon as the payment clears.

## How Kai's time is billed

Turning Kai on charges the first 15-minute block up front. While Kai stays on, the next block is
charged as each one runs out. If your wallet can't cover the next block, Kai turns off on its own
— you're never charged more than your balance. Turning Kai off early doesn't refund the current
block.

## Automatic refunds

If Kai fails to start, or a recording fails without producing a file, the credits for it are
returned to your wallet automatically — no support ticket needed.
