Larger commercial use pays a 5% royalty on revenue above that. OMOS is proprietary software, but proprietary doesn't mean paid. The compiled system is free to download and use for almost everyone — a royalty is owed only by large commercial users. ## What's free You can install and use OMOS at no charge, with no per-machine fee and nothing to buy, for: * **Personal** use. * **Education and academic** use. * **Non-profit** use. * **Commercial use** by any individual or company with **under \$1,000,000** in annual revenue. That covers essentially everyone building, learning, tinkering, or running a smaller business. ## When a royalty applies If your annual revenue is \*\*$1,000,000 or more** and you're using OMOS commercially, that use needs a paid commercial license: a **5% royalty** — applied only to the portion of the relevant revenue *above* $1,000,000, not the whole amount. Personal, education and non-profit use stays free no matter your revenue. It is **not** an auto-renewing subscription. The OMOS **source code is closed** and isn't licensed for use, copying, or modification. Contributions are by invitation only. This page is a plain-language summary for convenience. The binding terms are the full **OMOS End User License Agreement (EULA)**, which you accept when you download or run OMOS.
